Leather

This leather passport wallet was constructed with full-grain leather. All leather has grain, tough fibers, and pores in the top part of the hide. Most companies pay less for the leather that has had a lot of the grain shaved off to get rid of scars and blemishes of the leather, but in doing so, they shave off the grain, which is the toughest part of the hide and what makes a leather passport wallet so durable, get a nice patina and be super water-resistant. It's like the shaved off the shingles from your roof. When they remove some of the grain, it's called top grain leather. When they remove ALL of the grain, it's called genuine leather. And they do it to save leather while taking away the strength of the wallet and durability of the leather. Leather is expensive, and they don't want to waste any of it because of a scar or bug bite. It's why this full grain leather passport wallet is more expensive than some cheap passport case.

Lining

We line this leather passport wallet with pigskin, which is tougher than the cow leather. It's why we feel comfortable offering a 100-year Warranty.

Thread

We sewed it with our really strong German marine-grade polyester thread. It's the only thread they sew parachutes and ship sails with. So if your life depends on it, use Polyester thread.

Passport Wallet with RFID Blocker

And for extra security, we put a thin layer of RFID (Radio Frequency ID) blocking material between the pigs and the cow. This is to stop low life scumbag thieves from scanning your leather passport wallet in a crowd and stealing your identification from the cards in your passport wallet. The RFID chip on the front of the passport itself is harder to scan because it's a different frequency. So keep your data safe with this RFID blocking technology; these are travel essentials.

Passport Wallet Design

The reason customs agents and cashiers will compliment you on your leather passport wallet is that the full-grain leather ages so nicely. I designed it to stay slim and flat when it's stuffed full by putting only two even credit card pockets to stack your cards, business cards on one side and personal cards on the other. Because you stack them, there aren't layers of leather adding thickness between each card. And it stays flat in the two interior pockets. The size is wide enough to fit a couple of passports comfortably, and yellow cards or uncomfortably fit four passports, but only two securely. It seems simple, but it is a very well thought out leather passport wallet.

Need gift ideas...

From the time I was little, every year, we got my dad a new wallet(among other things) on Father's day. Well, four years ago, I decided to go with Saddleback's Passport wallet, because my dad needed a larger, more durable wallet. He'd gotten to the point where his wallets were literally falling to pieces before the year was up. The Passport wallet is still going strong and getting more and more beautiful by the day. It took a bit to break it in, but he loves it. Unfortunately, the wallet a year tradition has ended, and I'm now trying to think up something new haha!

Passport wallet

I ordered this for my son as a gift. I am disappointed in quality of this product . I have eight other saddleback products so I am well versed in the quality.The leather feels like a finally checkbook cover you would get from your bank when you open account. The dye is uneven. The covers do not match up was this a Dave's deal though I paid full price. And stitching is uneven. Was going to get messenger bag as birthday gift to me next month but now gun shy. I want to love these products as in past.

Great, rustic quality wallet

Bought this as a "test sample" to see what the famous Saddleback quality is. Was not disappointed. Have it in dark coffee brown which is a gorgeous color and will probably order other stuff to match. The leather seems bullet-proof and the stitching is top notch. The edges are unfinished (i.e. not burnished with beeswax or anything) mind you, but this goes well with the rugged & rustic look of it. Fits my passport just fine (duh), as well as 7 cards in the card slots and my vaccination notebook in the slot. Will do a quick YT review as well. Will definitely be buying more. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended.

I received my tobacco tint Saddleback Passport Wallet this morning and it's my second Saddleback product. I have to fly international routes a lot so I regularly carry a passport. This is the first passport wallet I've ever had that would be suitable as a daily use wallet, and I won't name the brands but I've had a lot of passport wallets in the past, both leather and nylon, at prices ranging from cheap to hideously expensive. Most of them are pretty awful. The Saddleback Passport Wallet, loaded with 6 cards, some cash, and my double thickness highly inflexible 52 page passport, is only approximately an inch thick overall and it is still comfortable to sit on. Without the passport in place, it is as comfortable to sit on as the Saddleback Large Bifold. I would recommend Saddleback's passport wallet to anyone who needs to carry a passport regularly. I haven't tried it in a pair of dress pants yet, but it does not stick out the top of the back pocket of a pair of Levi's 517's. After trying the two big Saddlebacks, I am never going to go back to a "normal size" wallet again.
