Leather Tow Belt in Kotor, Montenegro
Other than if I decide to get another one in a different color, this massively thick belt isn't going to break down any time soon. Saddleback should make an exception for this belt as I think they could reasonably put a 200 year warranty on this thing. The three thick layers of leather, strong stitching, and robust hardware are both beautiful and serve to make this the last belt you'll ever need.
Just received it, good solid belt that I know will last. Going to take some breaking in, like any good leather belt. One minor issue is that based on size chart I ought this on the lower end of length as I've been losing weight. However when used with either the 1st or second hole the end of the strap doesn't quite reach the loop, so it stands out. Another 3/4" of leather would have fixed the issue. I'll just have to lose more weight to get to the third hole!
This belt is atleast 3x thicker than a standard belt. I often have to buy new belts because they wear out, stretch, and deform from the utility pouches I use for work. I'm confident that it will last a lifetime.
I purchased the largest size 44 4.5 years ago. I was larger then. Recently I have gotten below the lowest hole and my parts are still falling down. Luckily I have an adjustable leather hole punching tool in my tools. So I added two more holes. Would just buy smaller belt, but it refuses to die. When i get down to my fighting weight, Maybe I will reward myself with a properly sized belt.
There are belts, and then there are *BELTS*, and this definitely fits into the latter category. It's the thickest, stiffest, strongest, highest quality, most durable belt I've ever seen or owned. Wow! What this is not, is a lightweight belt that I'd wear with a pair of light summer pants or shorts. It ain't no piece of canvas, that's for sure! As long as you know up front what you're getting when you order this, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be completely satisfied with it. Oh, one sizing tip: Take a belt that you already own, and measure the distance from the buckle to where you always buckle it. Armed with that, I can't imagine how you'd end up with the wrong size.
