    Highly recommended

I have owned a Tow Belt (tobacco brown) for about a year. As with all Saddleback products, it is of extremely high quality and is beautiful. At 1.5" it fits almost all belt loops but is thick and substantial. I use it as a service belt to carry a Sig 229 every day, and it holds my pistol better than any other belt I have owned. I can't say enough about Dave's products - they are rugged and durable while looking great. Saddleback clearly employs true artisans who do very impressive work.

Great Belt, but not in black

I got 2 belts, the dark coffee and the black. I couldn't be happier with the dark coffee. It's perfect. The black however is actually more like grey. The back side of the belt is perfect, but the front side of the belt isn't black enough for my intended use. It's unfortunate, because I spent a while trying to figure out how I could darken the belt to make it work. Ultimately, I decided that it's just too much money to spend time to fix the belt. I guess I just have to keep hunting for a black belt.

    The last one

Just received my second Tow belt from Saddleback; I've had my first one for several months now and couldn't be more pleased! I can't remember how many $30-$40 belts I've owned over the years, but after receiving my first belt from Saddleback (black tow belt) I gave my others to goodwill. Now that I picked up a brown one, I'm down to two belts; the last belt I'll ever buy, unless I buy another one from these folks as a gift for someone. Worth every penny! The best and last belt you'll ever own. Thank you for another second to none product, Dave

    Flawed Adjustment Layout

This is a nice looking belt. I'm probably not a typical customer...but this is, actually, the least stiff belt I own. I was surprised by that. So far, it supports my 76 oz. Belt load comfortably. So, it seems to be stuff enough. It does, indeed, have nine adjustment holes--but only six of them are usable. The hole run almost to the very tip of the belt; leaving no tail. (You can see this in the photos, but I failed to understand its import.) Using the fourth hole, the tail of the belt barely engages the keeper. If you used one of the first three holes, the tag end would stick out from the buckle. I'm perplexed by this arrangement. Luckily, the belt just fits me on the fourth hole, so I can wear it. Had I ordered one inch shorter, I'd be dieting to make it work. (Which migHt not be a bad idea.) I definitely can't recommend it at this price with its current defect.

    Biggest Mistake Made.. Ever!

Do you know what the problem is when it comes to having 'The Best'? .. .. Is that, you'll end up having problems with 'current' and 'present' .. .. cos' you will have to decide to either throw, give it away or sell it somehow.. .. away with the current and in comes the new.. (It's a syndrome, I know). I know I won't be buying anymore belts for now and in the near future. Okay, that's a lie. I might just get some more in different colours. Or when I suddenly, drastically change in size that I needed my entire wardrobe changed. The 100year warranty is sufficient to taking care of whatever problems I might face in the coming years. Since I don't intend on using my tow belt as a safety harness or using it to raise my sofa off the floor (just so that it would be easier for me to dust the floor underneath it), I don't see myself contacting customer services for any claims and such in the next 30years to come? Seriously, you're still reading this? Stop wasting your time and just buy it already!! Since you're covered by Dave's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, who cares man? Go ahead and just click BUY! If you don't like it, return it for a refund. It is that simple. If you like it so much, you'll end up writing unnecessary stuff on here just to make a point. The belt is extremely thick. From the way it is constructed, you'll know why Dave gave it 100years guarantee. As usual, I opted for chestnut (my favourite colour amongst the others available). My waist size is about 28", so I was indeed reluctant to get one (afraid that I might have to ship it back to USA for a refund - very troublesome thing to me, at least). Conctacted customer services a couple of times and finally decided to just go ahead with their smallest, 30". When it finally came, I got it on immediately on my pants and BOOM! Perfect! Sizing is great (i've got only a couple of centimetres worth of tail). The way the holes are made (ie their spacing from one hole to the other), you can't get it from other belt-makers (okay, fine, maybe you could if you have it CUSTOM-made). I would normally have problems finding belts for me (and NO, I don't consciously shop at the kids department). This belt though, SPOT ON!! The ambrosia of the leather, just shouts QUALITY! Stitching and craftsmanship, (seroiusly? do I really need to say anymore?), brilliant! One thing you gotta take note though, due to its thickness, you might not be able to loop the loose ends through the first belt loop on your pants. I had my the belt tail going over that belt loop since there was no way I could squeeze it in. Maybe because I had to wear my size 30" belt in the 3rd hole (3rd from the 1st hole, ie the tightest setting I can get) and that kinda created a slight offset of the buckles. Since the buckles itself is secured by one piece of leather folded over, it becomes really really thick for my belt loop to accomodate for the tail. Also, I love how smooth the inner part of the belt is (about as smooth as the outside). As Dave puts it in the description "for sliding on and off easily". Very useful for someone like me - who removes belts from pants after each wear. The edges of the leather are finished. Not the norm from SBL. But after contacting customer services (yes, I had to contact them with regards to this and was prepared to do an exchange, not a refund) they told me the coating was done to protect wearers' clothes from dye transfer should the leather gets too wet and somehow the dye would transfer out. If you're cool with the belt (eventhough) it has finished edges, then grab it. If some finishing of edges bugs you, then stay away from this belt. If you're just looking around for cool belts, then grab this one. If you're tired of shopping around for belts, grab this and that search stops here.
