This wallet was constructed with full-grain leather. Let me explain why that's so important. Leather is like a roof. You have the wood decking and then the shingles. The grain of the leather is the 25% of the top layer of the hide and is the strongest, most resistant to stains and water and has the densest tightly woven leather fibers of the leather. It's like the shingles on the roof. Without the grain, the roof will leak because the wood beneath it will resist, but not for long. The top layer of the leather also has all of the marks of the life of the cow.&&So, the low quality leather wallet companies shave off the scars so they will not have to cut around the scars and therefore save money by using almost every square inch of the hide. I was never one to

I was never one to spend a lot of money on a wallet. I would buy cheap ones and just patch them up with tape when they inevitably fell apart.
