Leather Tow Belt in Kotor, Montenegro
I read the other reviews talking about how thick and sturdy this thing is before I bought it, and it's almost indescribable. I still couldn't believe my eyes and hands when I pulled it out of the box. Between my wife and I we probably have over two dozen saddleback products in the house, so I'm well acquainted with the build quality, and this still blew me away. I imagine it will break in after a while, a crazy long while, but as of now it's like wearing a fitted hula hoop around the top of my jeans once it's buckled. In all honesty, I seriously doubt I'll ever buy another belt the rest of my life for every day wear. Dress belts are another story, but I do my best to make sure I don't need to wear one of those....
Yep. What a belt - thick, built to last and beautiful, like all the SB products I have ordered! This should indeed last a lifetime (unless I decide to really use it for towing). Sizing works: my jean size is 34 and I bought a 34 in chestnut - it's the same length as my usual belts that I have bought one size up from jean size, i.e., size 36. The SB Tow Belt fits at the 5th hole wearing Docker's dress khakis to work. But there is just a little less belt left beyond the belt's own keeper than I am used to, maybe because these belts are thicker than anything else I have. Dave said in his video and/or sizing that it fits at the 4th. But candidly, it's post-holiday and I am a bit over. Incentive to get back to fighting weight. Keep up the great work Saddleback!
Great belt. This tobacco tow belt is my favorite belt. It's thick, stiff, and hefty. Makes other belts seem wimpy and girly. Bring back the removable buckles!
As a newly minted doctor, I needed to start looking the part, and my decade-old beat up looking belt probably wasn't helping. This belt does the job. Holds up the pants, but looks good in a classic kind of way. After a year or so of use the only change in the belt is that it has gotten softer and fits a little better. The only complaint I have is that it is just barely too wide for a standard hospital pager to securely clip on. But I if that's enough reason for you to not get this belt, you probably shouldn't be looking at this company anyway.
I've probably purchased many belts that I thought had real "quality," but this one beats them all. Compared to the store bought variety, this belt has few peers. I bought the coffee brown color, and the belt can't compare to the others in my now, low brow collection. Now, I understand why people are surprised when they purchase directly from an expert in materials vs a contrived look in the store. I'll be buying at least one or two more belts in this same model. They are substantial, look incredible, and are built to last. You won't be disappointed.
