Read MoreThis leather wallet was built with what is called full grain leather. The grain is the most durable part of the hide and it's basically like the shingles of a roof. It ages richly and is very water resistant. But most designers or manufacturers are told to save as much money as possible making their wallets and so need to use every inch of the leather hide. Instead of cutting around the scars and blemishes and throwing 25% of the leather into the trash, the tannery shaves off the top layer with all of the scars and slight imperfections so they can use almost 100% of the hide to make leather wallets. The problem is that they shave off the shingles of your house; the toughest part of the hide. And that's why you're looking for the best leather wallet now. They become junk and fall apart in a short time (5 - 10 years).
---As if our leather wasn't enough, we line our wallets with pigskin, which is tougher than the cow leather. It's how we can offer a 100-year Warranty. And then we sew it with our special German marine grade polyester thread. It's what they sew parachutes and ship sails with. If a life depends on the seams not falling apart, they use the same thread. In between the leather and pigskin is a thin layer of Radio Frequency ID (RFID) blocking material to stop thieves from scanning your wallet in a crowd and stealing your ID off of the credit cards. It happens all the time. Google it.
I purchased the large one for my Birthday, (just turned 65). I am so glad I found you folks. It does lay flat, gives me the option of the back pocket carry, or the front pocket of my suit. The quality, and worksmanship is astounding. Like I said, I probably will never need to purchase another one, looks like it will last me a life time. But I have two sons, and 4 grandsons, guess what they are getting on their Birthdays?

I decided on getting the large bi fold in chestnut after a month of wear with my satchel. Same sturdy build...I've been telling people that if they can rip it in half with their bare hands I'll give them$50. You can probably get a hole in it if you chew on a certain spot everyday for an hour. I LOVE the way it's made from the credit card slots to the cash compartment. Like I said it's extremely sturdy, doubt I'll need another wallet for oh say a hundred years. It breaks in pretty easy, the credit slots are a bit stiff in the beginning but I've been able to put up to 3 cards in each slot. Start with 2 cards, leave them there for a few days and add another. I also like the space behind the credit slots, pretty handy for keeping receipts and stuff. The cash compartment is pretty tall so you can actually keep some gift cards, calling cards in there with your green and they don't stick out. Loving all the scuffs my wallet has so far and looking forward to a lot more. Great product and definitely worth every cent.

Because it was sold out for Christmas, I waited a bit to get my large tobacco bifold wallet. I absolutely love it. I love the way the cards stack on top of each other rather than in vertical slots, I love the fact that there is a huge section for bills and I still have 2 big pockets for receipts and such, I love they way the new tobacco finish looks, and most importantly, I love the way it smells. I have no shame when people look at me strangely in a line when I am waiting to pay for something and stop to take a huff of my wallet. This is my third piece of Saddleback craftsmanship and it will definitely not be the last.

Fun and adept customer service. The large bi-fold chesnut wallet is perfect in dress pants. Classy and not too stiff at all. I tell everyone I show to smell the leather - niiice! I only wish I would have found Saddleback sooner! Great product, great Saddleback Family. Thanks!

Among the SBL items I bought recently are the medium and large bifolds, in carbon. My son wanted a new wallet and I needed to get something for my dad for Christmas, so I ordered those two wallets and let the boy decide. After carefully comparing them, he chose the medium, so Dad gets the large. There's really nothing more I can add to the many reviews already out there except to reinforce that everything you read about SBL is true - the products are very well made and the company is a pleasure to deal with, providing a level of customer service I'm not sure was even around in the old days. Some people say they're expensive; considering the quality and quantity of what you're getting, I think they're a true bargain. Very highly recommended.
