Our Full Grain Leather is Key

This wallet was constructed with full-grain leather. Let me explain why that's so important. Leather is like a roof. You have the wood decking and then the shingles. The grain of the leather is the 25% of the top layer of the hide and is the strongest, most resistant to stains and water and has the densest tightly woven leather fibers of the leather. It's like the shingles on the roof. Without the grain, the roof will leak because the wood beneath it will resist, but not for long. The top layer of the leather also has all of the marks of the life of the cow.&&So, the low quality leather wallet companies shave off the scars so they will not have to cut around the scars and therefore save money by using almost every square inch of the hide. But in doing so, they shave off the longest lasting and toughest part that leather is famous for. We WANT as much grain as we can get on our leather wallets, so we cut around the scars and blemishes and throw that leather into the trash.

Color

Giving this one a 2 - I ordered this wallet in their tobacco color but what I received was a very dark brown wallet. I figured they accidentally sent me the wrong color, so I reached out to their customer support with photos showing the dark brown wallet. They confirmed that it was their tobacco, that batch just "came out a little darker" ... Accidentally sending the wrong color, no big deal. Stuff happens. But when they confirmed the color was indeed tobacco it showed a lack of quality control and misleading product. Wish I could attach a picture to this review showing the product color. The upside here was their customer service was accommodating and kind. I ended up purchasing from Marlondo leather

Best Wallet Ever

I have owned two of these wallets (the 2nd one was bought courtesy of my dog chewing the first one). It's the best wallet I've ever owned, hands down. If the dogs get hold of this one: 1) shame on me for leaving it exposed to him, and 2) I'm gonna buy another one just like it!! You won't be sorry you bought this or any of the Saddleback products. I would guarantee that statement, but they already do!!
